PORTSMOUTH VOCATIONS

Are you considering a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life? Contact Canon John Cooke to discuss this further. vocations@portsmouthdiocese.org.uk.

CHILD SAFETY:

There have been concerns about children running around the car park after the 10.15am Sunday Mass. Vehicles are in transit at all times, so this is a safety hazard. Please don't let your children go outside without you. This includes letting them go to the toilet unaccompanied.

THE ANNUNCIATION OF THE LORD

Is usually celebrated on 25 March. However, as it was Holy Week this has been postponed until Monday 8 April. Mass will be celebrated at St. Swithun's at 9.00am.

Please feel free to share with your parish.

Many thanks and best wishes on behalf of the Fundraising Team,

GOING INTO HOSPITAL?

Please contact the Catholic Chaplaincy so that appropriate support can be given to you during your stay. Why not give a note to the hospital staff when you're admitted that explains that you would appreciate a visit from the chaplaincy? This could be followed up by a telephone call from a relative or friend to the ward to ensure the request has been actioned. Canon Treloar would be happy to administer the Sacrament of the Sick before you go into hospital.

YOUR FUNERAL AND YOUR FAMILY.

We understand this is not an easy topic to discuss with your family, but we would suggest you make your wishes very clear when planning your funeral. Let your family know that when you die you would like the Catholic Rites of a Requiem Mass to be offered for you. Sadly, we are finding that the faith of Mass-going Catholics is not always being respected by their families.
